PROGRESS

As can been seen, I now have a very smart and shiny carburettor. After having a go at restoring the original carb, it still was not running too well. It would start fine on full choke, butit didn’t like it when the choke was taken off... it just died! It seemed to be letting in air and needed the richer mix to keep it going. So I had another go at setting it up using the correct needle gauge tool and rechecked the float level, gaskets and new refurb kit parts I had changed. But, sadly, it still ran the same. Chris Haines lent me spare carb and it ran like a dream so I knew it was the carb still playing up.

When we went to the Malvern show, I saw that Jeffrey engineering was offering a complete overhaul and running check. So Nigel, Diane and I went over to Kent and dropped it off. It was returned by post 3 days later, all done and ready to go. I have fitted it and it runs really well and looks like new.
