JULY 2012

PROGRESS

I spent most of the time working on the engine this month. There was a problem getting fuel through to the carb si I checked that all the joints were tight, took the fuel filter off and checked for air leaks. I eventually managed to get petrol through and, as can be seen and heard, the engine is running. It starts ok but needs timing / tuning to run better.

Among other parts I am preparing is the bumper. Dave has repaired this as best he can, bearing in mind that it was almost in half, but again it’s worth keeping because it is original (& F marked). The windscreen frame is now back from Dave 2. I could not get a repro wind deflector so Dave 2 made one to match and welded it into place.
