DECEMBER - 2010

PROGRESS

A very cold and snowy month but work on the jeep has continued. The main push has been to start on the body and associated larger parts. The wings, bonnet, grill, windscreen frame and front seats were all stripped down. Unfortunately I could not find any markings or any others numbers regarding the history of the jeep. Mel took them off for shot blasting and they are now stored ready for any repairs and painting. The body was moved into the garage (with the assistance of Dave, Nigel and Joseph) and Nigel and I spent a day stripping off all the parts and instruments off the body. As you can see there is a lot of rust, mainly the front floor pan but also the rear floor is quite bad. I will get the body shot blasted and see what is left before I decide what to do. Most body parts are available and Dave is a good welder. It just depends how much metal is left for him to weld to.
