APRIL - 2012

PROGRESS

Completed body fitted to the chassis, this involves drilling holes in the new body floor to match up with the chassis mounting points. Painted the fuel tank and wings. The tank takes a bit of fitting, again being a new body and tank, they don’t quite line up so adjustment with a rubber mallet was required. The tank strap mountings on the floor were not fitted so I drilled and bolted them into place. The wings took a lot of effort to get them to fit properly, with the boltholes not quite lining up. It was just a case of fitting them one by one and levering and filing until they all fitted. The grill, which was ready to go, was bolted down.

The electrics were laid out and, by using a combination of wiring diagrams from All American Wonder book & 1945MB.Com downloads, I started the wiring. This being a later Jeep, it has the rotary switch but the terminals are marked up the same as a pull out switch. The grill was already wired so it was just a case of terminating all of the ends.
